UPDATE: KANSAS WINS! Kansas, the underdogs with the fat coach :) ,Mark Mangino,  and the short quarterback :) , Todd Reesing, and the easy schedule :) beat Virginia Tech 24-21 in the 2007 Orange Bowl.

Kansas is playing Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl tomorrow night!

The last time the Kansas Jayhawks was at the Orange Bowl was 1969.

The Jayhawks were ahead 14-7 with 1:16 left in the game.

Kansas was on the Penn State 14 and it was fourth down. Instead of going for the sure field goal, Pepper Rodgers decided to go for a 4 and 1. Quarterback John Riggins was stopped for no gain. Penn State took over, and scored a quick touch down. The score was 14-13 with only seconds left to play. Penn State decided to go for two points.

…and they failed! It looked like Kansas had won the game… but there was a flag. There were 12 men on the field.

Penn State had another chance to score 2. This time they made it. Kansas lost the Orange Bowl. Kansas fans have never forgotten that loss.
