South Pole Flyby

The sun’s south pole

Today, the ESA-NASA Ulysses is flying over uncharted territory – the mysterious South Pole of the sun. In 1911 Roald Amundsen and Robert F Scott reached the South Pole of the Earth. Now in 2007, an unmanned satalite is flying over more uncharted territory – the south pole of the sun. This is a joint venture between NASA and the European Space Agency.
