Sam’s short visit

Sam has a job in Rochester! He is working on  a web site that is a myspace for old people  – . He had just a few days to come down here before his job starts, so on Wednesday night, we got a phone call from the Philadelphia 30th street station that he didn’t have any cash to catch the train to Malvern. Gretchen called the Septa police, and they said that he could get on the train and they would bill us for the $5 train ticket, but when Sam tried to explain that to the conductor it didn’t work. So I drove to Philly at around midnight to pick him up – which wasn’t too bad because the traffic was pretty light. We talked about his literary web site  –, which needs literary submissions. Right now, his passion is working on his novel, writing/editing poetry and his girl friend Katie. He is thinking about going to graduate school at Kansas University, in a creative writing program.  He needed to get back to Rochester on Saturday, so Gretchen drove him to the Exton train station. Sam Cole is my oldest son – and this is the summer between his junior and senior year at R.I.T.
