Finding Jesus on www.spock.com

www.spock.com is a powerful people search engine that picks up tags from sites like myspace,  Linkedin, wikipedia, and many other publicly available site with tags. You might want to look up your own record to make sure it’s accurate! I was able to find both my sisters, college buddies, my brother-in-law, myself, and my company’s CTO (but not the CEO). My kids were not on it.  It also has politicians and historical figures. Here is the one for Jesus Christ:

Tags: jesus christ, savior, Jewish person, jesus, spiritual leader, Christian, carpenter,Christianity, son of god, JEW, snake oil salesman, perfect, ressurected, gospel, good news.

Related people: Arlene Skjerly, Guatama Buddha, Mary, Elisio Vasconcelos

On the web: wikipedia, ChristianityToday.com,lds.org,mormon.org,christianism.com

(apparently He doesn’t have a myspace).

(You can vote if you think the links are incorrect, so I nixed Snake Oil Salesman)

All the tabs are links to other people with the same tab. Interesting site. I could spend a lot of time on this one!

  1. Yeah, they’re supposedly a people-search website, but their site is full of famous dead people like Jesus, Plato, Aristotle, and so their claim that they have 100 million people indexed is very deceiving. Plus they have a lot of duplicates, multiple profiles for the same person, aaand, a lot of profiles they have only have tags to them, but no links, so what’s the point of even having found that person’s name in their database?

A site like PeekYou.com on the other hand, offers much more value. They focus on everyday people who are ALIVE and still relevant, and the information on them is organized in a much more sensical way

  2. I typed “Jesus Christ” into http:\\www.peekyou.com and got 1,628 matches! They are located in USA (49 states) and Canada (4 provinces). WOW!

Jesus actually talks about this in Matthew 24:23-25:

At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible.
See, I have told you ahead of time.

DOUBLE WOW! So you can find Jesus almost anywhere – on peekyou and spock too 🙂

    Kejda, Thanks for the tip.

  3. Hahah, the creepy thing is that those people seem to actually be named Jesus Christ.
