It was interesting because a good part of the retreat centered around a huge picture that Gretchen drew in less than a week’s time, while also doing everything else she does. On the left side there is Babylon, and on the right side, there is Zion and in the middle is a river with bridges across it and there is also an Island called pseudo-Zion. There are also all of these little people scattered around in the river of pain, in the pit of despondency, and other places, or in little boats. It was loaded with symbolism. We broke up in little groups and discussed Gretchen’s art. The morning session was on what everything represented, and the evening session was on where we were on the picture. The super-sofa sized picture is now right next to the altar at Church!
