Sarah Heath Palin

McCain made an interesting VP choice in Sarah Heath Palin, governor of Alaska:

44 years old (born Feb 11, 1964) – the daughter of a science teacher and a school secretary

In 1984 – runner-up in Miss Alaska pageant

Grew up in Alaska hunting moose with her father at 3AM in the morning

Point Guard and captain for the Wasilla High School Warriors. She was nicknamed “Sara Baracuda” because of the intensity of her play.

She played the championship game with a broken ankle and won it on a critical freethrow.

Head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in HS, and lead the team in prayer.

She finished second in the Miss Alaska beauty pageant.

She married her high school sweetheart – a commercial fisherman.

She was elected to the Wasilla City Council and then became mayor. She reduced property taxes by 60% by reducing spending, including giving herself a paycut.

She has excellent anti-abortion credentials including being a member of feminists for life (Gretchen was involved with this group at one point too!)

She has been a major whistle-blower in the Republican party – which has gotten a lot of corrupt politicians pissed off at her at one time or another.

As governor of Alaska she pushed for an ethics bill, and has shelved pork-barrel projects insisting that Alaska be self-sufficient and not reliant on federal dollars.

She has approval ratings in Alaska in the 80s and 90s.

She supports the 26 billion dollar pipeline to send gas from the North Slope to the US, but apparently this is a very popular program in Alaska. (What about the moose?)

On social issues: creationism should be taught in schools, alongside evolution. Strongly opposes abortion. Supports capital punishment.

She inherited a jet from the previous Alaskan governor administration. She thought it was an extravagance, so she had Alaska sell it on ebay and got $2.1million dollars for it.

She has five children, the oldest one, Track is 18, and joined the army. He has been deployed and is now in Iraq. Her second son, Trig,  has Downs Syndrome, and then she has three daughters – Bristol, Willow and Piper.

She is a lifetime member of the NRA.

Her eats Moose Hamburger and Ice fishes and her husband is part Yup’ik. She tried marijuana when it was legal in Alaska but didn’t like it.

I believe this was a totally a wrong choice!
She already has a big responsibility and a full time job as a mother. Which she should not give up.
What kind of an example is she setting for all the other mothers? The problems we see with the teenagers is because their mothers have neglected them. A child needs her mother to be nearby when she needs her.
This is is not fair to her children.
Being a mother is the most important job in the world. More important than any other job.
She doesn’t care and take responsibility for the well being of her own children, her own flesh and blood. How should we believe that she would care for the nation and the people that she doesn’t even know!
This is very obvious that she is an irresponsible person and she should not be trusted!

  2. Palin must be submissive to her husband, according to the Bible, and Sarah’s husband wants her to run for VP of the United States, so she is not being irresponsible or a bad example.

Her #1 responsibility is to be a good mother but she can run for VP at the same time if that is what God has called her to do.

Also, compared to motherhood, being Vice President is a pretty easy job. It mainly involves going to state funerals and hunting with your friends on the weekends.
