Genesis 1 – the inside story

I read Genesis 1 today – and here are my notes.

The TNIV version translates Genesis 1:1-1-2 as:

[1:1]In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

[1:2] Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

A lot of time and things may have happened between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 – between the “In the Beginning” and the “Now”. How can the creation of a perfect God result in something that is “formless and empty“?

If we assume that  the great universal spiritual war- spanning many years and many galaxies- has caused the universe to become formless and empty – with God’s angel armies on one side and Satan’s angel armies on the other, then the seven days of creation becomes a creation of weapons to take what is formless and empty – without meaning- and return  it into something wonderfully formed and filled with meaning.

The Spiritual Weapons that God Created and the day He created them:

Day 1. Light – Satan hates light.

Day 2. Sky – Satan hates the sky

Day 3. Land – Satan hates the land. He is not an environmentalist.

Day 4. The Sun and the Moon. Satan hates the sun and the moon.

Day 5. Fish and Birds. Satan hates fish and birds.

Day 6. Wild Animals. Satan hates animals. The crowning jewel in his wild animal making are  HUMAN BEINGS – a special kind of wild animal made by God  in the image of Himself. Satan particularly hates humans and God particularly loves them.
